A New Home for Cephas House

Thanks to the generosity and prayers of so many, Cephas House (located in Buffalo) will soon have a new address.
Peaceprints™ was awarded over $800,000 through grants to make the necessary renovations to convert the former rectory of Holy Apostles SS. Peter & Paul Church, located at Clinton and Smith Street, into the new site/location for Cephas House.
A $76,000 grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York and a $738,000 grant through New York State’s Homeless Housing Assistance Program (HHAP) will finance improvements to expand housing, provide safety upgrades to the property, and make the residency handicapped-accessible.
This facility and forth-coming renovations will more than double the size of our Cephas House. Once renovations are completed, the new Cephas House will be able to accommodate up to twelve (12) residents and two (2) live-in staff at the SS Peter and Paul location. This past summer we have already moved our administrative offices to this location.
The former Cephas House located on Abbott Road will be converted into Phase II housing, which will provide affordable, supportive housing for those who have graduated from one of our programs. |
Rochester Community
Re-entry Nights
The transition back into society is difficult for all those involved and can be made easier by knowing what to expect of the day-to-day life on parole. The Rochester Community Re-entry Nights connects individuals with the information and resources regarding re-entry programming, community resources, and available services to help ease the transition.
Service providers and employers on hand to offer help in finding employment, education and other services for those re-entering society from incarceration. This year, an attorney is also on hand to answer legal questions.
Formerly incarcerated men and women, their families, loved ones, and all those interested are welcome.
